My Story

I've been obsessed with digital marketing since before it was cool - back when Google Analytics was new and 'social media marketing' meant Organic Facebook. 

Over the past 15 years, I've led digital marketing and growth functions for B2B and B2C organisations across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK. I've delivered measurable outcomes that matter: 94% increases in lead acquisition, 45% YoY revenue growth, $50M+ in new pipeline, and countless optimisations that turned marketing from a cost centre into a growth engine. 

I've worked with iconic brands like Flight Centre, Queensland Ballet, and ghd hair, and I've also rolled up my sleeves with start ups and SMEs who needed someone who could think strategically AND execute tactically. 

But here's what I learnt: most Australian founders don't need another agency churning out tactics. They don't need someone to 'post more on Instagram' or 'run some ads.' They need strategic clarity.  They need someone who understands both marketing AND business.

Someone who can look at their entire ecosystem and say, "Here's what's working, here's what's not, and here's exactly what you should prioritise."

That's why I started Lauren O'Neill Digital.  I saw too many brilliant founders making the same mistake: investing in execution before building the right foundation. Hiring agencies before they had a strategy. Throwing budget at channels without understanding attribution. Being told their marketing was 'performing well' based on vanity metrics whilst revenue stayed flat. 

I wanted to bring enterprise-level strategic thinking to founders who can't afford a full head count or a $100K+ Marketing salary - but absolutely need one.  Now I'm channelling all of that experience into helping Australian founders and SMEs access the same calibre of strategic marketing leadership that large enterprises take for granted - without the full-time resource commitment.

Before I make any marketing recommendations, I need to understand your business model, commercial objectives, target customers, competitive landscape, and constraints. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all strategies.

Most founders think they have a 'lead generation problem' or a 'conversion problem,' but the real issue is often upstream or downstream. I audit your entire marketing ecosystem to identify the true bottlenecks—not just the obvious ones.

Prioritise Based on Impact

You can't do everything at once. I prioritise initiatives based on expected business impact, resource requirements, and dependencies. We focus on what will move the needle most, fastest, with the resources you actually have.

Make It Actionable

Strategy without execution is just a thought exercise. Every recommendation comes with clear next steps, resource requirements, success metrics, and timelines. If you can't execute it with your team or budget, I won't recommend it.

I'm obsessive about measurement and accountability. We define clear KPIs upfront, build proper attribution, and track progress against objectives. If something's not working, we adjust quickly. If it is working, we scale intelligently.
